Come Play Outside

About

Come Play Outside was launched in the summer of 2021 by the San Diego Parks Foundation to create enriching opportunities for kids and their families to play outside safely in San Diego during the summer to support children and families gain a sense of joy and community loss during the COVID-19 crisis.

Come Play Outside organizes and funds programs such as aquatics, adventure camp, Teen Nite, and movies in the park in 21 recreation centers and aquatic centers across San Diego’s South and Central neighborhoods. In just its second year Come Play Outside served 30,364 from 16,690 kids with low or no cost summer programs and events in "Communities of Concern."

Come Play Outside is made possible by Price Philanthropies Foundation, the JEM Project, Walter J. & Betty C. Zable Foundation, Hervey Family Fund at The San Diego Foundation, Robert & Allison Price Charitable Trust, the Walmart Foundation, Albertsons Foundation, and the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, and the City of San Diego Parks & Recreation Department.
