Staff Appreciation Breakfast 2023
The San Diego Parks Foundation held a Staff Appreciation Breakfast and Award Ceremony to honor the dedicated employees of the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department. Over 100 people were in attendance to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the department, particularly during the busy summer months.
The event featured remarks from esteemed guests, including Michel Anderson, San Diego Parks Foundation Board Chairperson; Andy Field, Parks and Recreation Director; Martha Philips, San Diego Parks Foundation Treasure; and Kim Mathis, Program Director. Each speaker expressed their deep appreciation for the outstanding work that City of San Diego employees perform every day, particularly during the summer months when Parks After Dark and Come Play Outside programs are in full swing.

The success of these programs and the overall achievements of the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department are a testament to the dedication and hard work of its employees. The San Diego Parks Foundation is incredibly grateful for their contributions and is proud to partner with the City to provide enriching experiences for San Diego residents of all ages.
Overall, the summer of 2023 was a resounding success, with over 51,000 youth, adults, and seniors participating in various programs. This remarkable achievement is a result of the strong collaboration between the San Diego Parks Foundation, the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department, Price Philanthropies, and other partners. Congratulations to everyone involved for making this another successful summer!
