David Monroe

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

David Monroe is a retired City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department employee after serving the citizens of San Diego for 42 years, all in the Parks and Recreation Department, including 12 years as a Deputy Director. During his time in with Parks and Recreation, Monroe managed multiple recreation centers, a host of community and neighborhood parks, municipal swimming pools, therapeutic and senior services programs, open space parks and the Park Ranger program. Additionally, he served as liaison with Parks and Recreation community groups and committees which included: Recreation Councils, Citizen Advisory Committees, Task Forces, Steering Groups, Senior Advisory Groups and Foundations. Outside of work, Monroe coaches girls varsity basketball at Mater Dei Catholic High School during the school year and girls club basketball during the summer months.
